Nw licence for kids..is this new?

Do I even have to print out my kids licence this year. I had to in years past even though it was free. I tried but it keeps saying $36 when i select a licence even though they are under 7 years old?



All annual licences are valid for the current licence year, April 1 – March 31, commencing on date purchased.

•you may sport fish without any licence or stamp;
•you do not need to be accompanied by a licence holder;
•you are entitled to your own quota of fish.

Fresh water they didn't need one.... Saltwater they do and have to buy a stamp if planning on keeping a fish.

Why? Off course kids should be taught the rules, but some of my best memories was poking about the little lakes and streams with very rudimentary fishing equipment.

No license required for freshwater ...... kids under sixteen. Entitled to any and all daily catch limits ........ Adult not required to accompany like hunting is .
