Anyone out there fished Nitinat in August?Am heading out in the second week with a friend for four days and am dying to hook into one of the famed Nitinat 50's.Was up there last year trolling the bar(the only ones I think)and held my own but definitely not as well as others.Am hesitant to cut plug as all four fish were full of them.
Troll,mooch,inside,outside.....ugh.Any pointers?
thanks y'all

There is not much point in fishing the inside until at least the 3rd week of August.I would suggest you fish the gap or run west up to Carmanah. The water is only 50 feet deep for the most part.Cutplug with a 4-6 oz banana 8 pulls should work well. The gap, hug the rocks to the left of the opening (East).I have trolled chovie at the gap and have had some success but cutplug is your best bet.Last year was not a very good year.If you do run up to Carmanah watch the fog and have a GPS.
