New boat build - 40 foot catamaran for end of 2022 delivery.

its originally done at a shipyard Projektowanie i Budowa Jachtów in Szczecin, Poland. Getting transferred to UK for completion since i dont speak polish and its a pain to communicate with them. plus minor war going on next door - dont want a cruise missile up my new yacht's backside. i might transfer it to Tunisia instead of UK since they seem to speak english there (the manager is a brit) to HACO in Al Huwariyah if its cheaper. otherwise it will go straight to the UK. anyway, will decide once i fly down to Tunisia and talk to them end of this month.
5 tons dry weight. A catamaran generally has no ballast. It primarily depends on beam and individual hull buoyancy for stability. max design speed is 17 knots under sail so a bit slower than my 40 knot powerboat.

Oh interesting, I asked because I noticed the polish writing on the signs in the background of a few of your pics.

another week...you know the drill.

on an unrelated note anyone know how to mount IP cameras to stainless steel stanchions ?
i need to mount 4 PTZ saltwater rated cams to the cat and the best would be to go thru the stanchion base but how do i get a camera to stick to a round stainless steel rail ? any ideas please advise.

another week another set....

not on the boat but currently im building the boat network in my living room. it works fine (60/10) here but i dunno if it will in the med. guess i will find out in dec. doing final integration by november since i have some stuff shipped from china in sep on the slow boat. i also need some way to power off starlink when im not on the boat so will likely do a partial CZone system controlled by the peplink or openwrt device. starlink burns a ton of power. i do have 2040Ah at 12VDC on the boat but i still need to watch my power levels.

Have you tried Starlink yet Zurk? I'm contemplating it for the cabin.
Was on a zoom call with a guy today who was on starlink near revolstoke in a camp ground. Said it was a game changer. I’ll pass, trying to get away from business when I’m on the boat and camping.

Looks good Zurk. There is a good boat electrical group on Facebook if you are looking for “expert” feedback. Some good guys on it.

ive been lazy and not posting pictures lol. really busy with work.
anyway status update: engines and legs installed. rudders installed. final finishing on exterior is completing in a week or so.
i might ask them to mount some stuff in the engine room and exterior transom for dropping in an auto fire extinguishing system and transom mounted hydro generators. also asking em to upgrade the engine databus to nmea 2000.
ive got my main network switch and starlink poe cable power brick on order eta december from china for final integration in canada. batteries are on order eta end jan shipped to the uk. boat should be complete by feb. i will have it shipped to the UK. spend 1 month in the UK in march fixing it up with my cameras, power and networking gear. take it across the channel to france and spend 2 months there validating all systems and getting some sailing practice in.
ive got my peplink installed and running. main server is also installed and running. de-installed forwardscan and NMEA 2K link from my current boat. all 6 cameras are also up and running and prepped for shipping. I still need to install NMEA and validate on the main server. i have to install wireless keyboard as well. Received the mounting boards for network -- need to get the gear racked and prepped for transport. i have like 50 pix to upload when i get more time lol.

anyways heres a few new pics since i got slightly motivated haha.

the saga continues on two continents.....
now getting to near completion. 2/4 boards (engine room port and starboard - both of the fiber network end nodes excluding the auto fire suppression system which is to be installed in the uk) are ready, rest should have final parts in end of this month (network backbone and main compute/digital power switching boards).
boat is getting readied for transport.

yes which is why i'll never bring it to canada. 24% tax or something.
bit pointless anyway since there is no cruising ground in canada. i like white sand beaches and the only one available is in BC and my powerboat can get to it - so not missing anything.
