hey,

We need a new net....don' ask why.

Have been looking at Scotty 6'...seems to be a nice net.

Also, for about same price, Gibb's 6'. Netting has a 'rubbery' feel tho. Might have an advantage with stuck hooks and releasing but need a few thoughts.

Had Gibbs for years never had a problem. Scotty I think is like triple the price. I dunno it's a net and it nets fish

Ya, that's how I feel too. I don't worry about expensive release nets and whatnot because if I net it, I ain't releasin' it.

Gibbs net is much better than the Scotty, more durable, better built and the catch and release netting is great for avoiding hooks tangling up.

Scotty's last forever, and they're great nets. I have two that are both over 25 years old and still in great shape. Just filled one handle with Styrofoam tonight, so I don't lose it. My GF's not the most skilled at netting, but she makes up for it in other ways on the boat.

Have you tried filling the handle with foam. Just got a new one after 16 years ( yes- does almost last forever. ) and was thinking of trying this
