Nanaimo river steelhead count

any body know what the winter numbers where ?

The province guys did a swim on April 24 from the Borehole to the Haslam Junction. Counted 12 steelies. Pretty grim.

They had it open for catch and release for a couple of months I think it just ended but there was a guy going up and down the river asking the anglers what they have caught .I was wondering where that info could be found ? Just wondering

Those were probably all chinook that you saw. They start entering the river as early as march. There aren't that many steelhead returning to the river to have a school of that size.

Ya, those would have been spring and summer run chinook.
