Mooching reel, mono vs braid

Most are fishing WAY deeper than 60, although I love to fish at 60. I also love eating Chinook so I tend to fish at the depth I believe that they are at. A great sounder/transducer combo helps, and having an idea of what they are feeding on based on fishing location & time of year also helps.

I suppose it depends where you fish. But like some earlier posts said, I also do the majority of my summer chinook fishing with riggers at 60 feet or less. At Port Renfrew today, almost everyone (and there were a lot of boats) fishing the beach is fishing in water that is 60 feet deep or less, with riggers even shallower.
