Lower unit won't drop to gain access to impeller
All bolt removed
Research says shifter linkage not in play on that year for lower leg to drop
Nothing under bonnet to prevent drop either
Leave drive shaft frozen in crank
All the pulling and hammering prying has no effect
Any tips
And also the little motor is seized
Any tips on braking it free

There is a shift linkage in there, but you can't easily see it. It's under the carbs. Has to be removed for the lower end to drop. Shift into neutral before disconnecting the linkage. The last person that did the impeller probably sealed everything up with silicone before bolting it together. You might need to run a knife in the joint to break the seal.

Thanks no silicone anywhere
I have seen where some have something under the carb to remove
From what I have read this year does not.
But not saying the internet is always righti will take a pic of under carb area
In hope of someone telling me what to remove
Thanks

Pretty sure those engines have splined shift rods, if they won't budge get some metal wedges and slowly work them between the two housings. Go slow as to not break the housings.

not sure about the photo but on my Merc 115 2 stroke the shaft is self lubricated by exhaust where it goes into the head. If you don't pull it every few years if wont come out.
