Just changed the lower gear oil in my Honda 50hp. Usually it's been a tree green color but this time it's dirty yellow. No visible sign of water but has me concerned. Run about 150 hours on the oil.
What color should it be and how bad could it be?
Sounds like you definately got some water in there. Check the O rings around the drain screws. I change them everytime I change the lower gear oil. Sometimes when they are over-tightened they leak. Had a similar problem with a older honda 15hp.
