I have an OMC Cobra leg and just
wondering if ther is a cross over to a mercruiser
or something

No. You cant simply swap legs. You need to change the whole transom shield assy. to a merc, or volvo depending on what application you want.

or agood reasonable mech in the lower mainland

Talk to a Volvo mechanic...depending on the year, the OMC and Volvo legs are similar.
