Leaking fuel tank gaskets

Sir Reel

The gaskets around my diesel fuel tank gauges are leaking slightly. They have a flat rubber seal and the rubber has deteriorated and now leaks.
There is about a 3 inch metal plate that is screwed through the rubber into the stainless steel tank.
Can I use a gasket compound such as Permatex to make a new gasket seal? Looks like the Permatex is not affected by oils and fuel.

Other than that I will have to make a new rubber seal out of some 1/8" rubber but don't know where to get that.
Any help would be appreciated!

They come in cork or rubber usually hardware is included, when installing make sure to keep rotating until all the holes line up because the holes are not evenly spaced(I made that stupid mistake)

Where are you located sir reel? I could make one for you at work if you are close to surrey.

SEAL- ALL is great for tanks too even if there is fuel in it awesome stuff used it many times...
