Sorry to intrude, but have you tried cutting any bait while fishing for those lunkers.. Just from exp. but I tried a chov with dirty's finest of cuts, in search of deep water cutts, and the pour little bugger didn't last a minute and half.. 24.5" and toned.. Guessed it at 6.5 to 7 lbs..
As for those deep, slow movin slabs, you would think a mooched shiner or what it is that they feed on would suck em in like no other.. Appreciate the feedback-dirty

Hi Dirtdog I have used flashers and dodgers with spoons but I have always wanted to try cut herring only problem is I have to order the Herring from down south as nobody up north here carrys them. Its something I have been thinking about for along time. And will have to try one day. I bet it would work great NM
