Japanese plum wood

Gear'n'beer!

Hey, fell a (supposedly) Japanese plum at my gf's house today. It was probably 30' high and had about 6 main large trunks. Was a bit of a ***** to be honest as it overhung 3 different rooflines from neighbours. But luckily I didn't clean a single eaves trough from a house. Anyway, my question is has anyone used this wood for smoking? I brought home a truckload so was looking for someone who has used this stuff for shoulders/brisket/sausage.

Any info Appreciated :)
