Intellisteer type R turning by itself

Has anyone had any issues with their intellisteer type R turning by itself while trolling at higher RPMs? I've had this set up on my boat since 2015 without any issues until now. Seems like its almost like a vibration thing thats causing it to turn by itself, i've also heard that the cable is a consumable part that has to be changed every couple of seasons? Boats kept out of the water, zero corrosion is present around the drive and lubricated every season at the tilt tube.

It's time to replace - had that exact problem.
Order a new remote and receiver from North Shore Yacht Works - I think it was $170.00.

When reinstalling, temporarily connect your leads to ensure you are happy with the remote button control - port/starboard.
Heat shrink connectors!

Did you replace the steering cable as well?

No - there was nothing wrong with the cable or the motor - just the receiver.
