Howe Sound Prawn Closures

Can someone explain what is actually closed? A recent bulletin mentioned that areas like Whytecliff Park and Lighthouse Park are permanently closed to prawn fishing. I cannot find any map that delineates what area these are. Both are land parks? I often see traps (red dots in picture ) in this area of Whytecliff. Could they mean the area I’ve outlined, that encompasses an imaginary line from land, to around Whyte Islet and back?

That doesn’t help. I’m aware of the areas, of the closures. A post in the Offishall forum stated the areas I mentioned as permanently closed but I can find no map delineating area and see traps all around there, when it’s open

Well since the area you outlined in your picture is in area 28-2 it's closed until April 1st or until they open it backup. After they do their spawn index test fishery I would imagine

I don't see any permanent closures only sponge reefs.

I don't see any post that mentions permanent closures of those areas.

This was in Offishall thread…. Makes no sense, aren’t those land parks? I boat around there and don’t want to get one of those big fines
