I have been wanting to get out and try some trout fishing on one of the big lakes in port alberni like sproat or nahmint or even gracie but the only time i have to go is next week and the weather report calls for bellow freezing temps, will this affect the fishing inany of these lakes? I read an article on nahmint lake and it suggested that september and october are the prime months does anybody know if there is any truth behind that. With my experience with trout they tend to slow down the feeding in the cold
any info would be appreciated
thanx wetbeaver

the trout wont swim around as much as they do in the summer, mainly to conserve enegry. so you pritty much have to put the lure right in there face for them to bite it.

id troll at normal speed if u get nothing drop the speed

went to one of my favourite spots up in nanaimo lakes had a heck of a day smallest fish were 15" and they kept getting bigger all the way up to a 22" cutty. what an awesome day:D

Nice fish and a great day.

I've been looking to get out for some trout action on the south island as well but haven't made it out...
