Halibut Measuring Made Easy

A friend of mine is a lodge owner in Alaska and he mentioned that the State of Alaska Fish and Game Dept is working on an App for the IPhone that would be able to tell the length and weight of a Halibut when it when it surfaces. The way it will work is, it will look at the eyes of the Halibut and determine from this the length and weight. As a Halibut matures its eyes move, thus allowing the App to work. They may also be able to use this App in the log book to count fish. This would sure be a nice tool to have instead of wrestling with a large halibut trying to get a close measurment and avoiding injury. Has anyone else heard of this new tool and when it mght be available?

yea sure an iphone for measuring halibut - something about iphones and saltwater,doesn't jibe!
