OK-- so you dont want to slog through all volumes--- but at least educate yourself by reading the Executive Summary.....
I read all 75 recommendations. To me they can be broken down into 4 or 5.
#1 DFO DO YOUR JOB - get out of salmon farming, don't tip toe around enforcement INCLUDING NATIVES, conduct meaningfull research, make those results public AND allow others to conduct their own research and take their results into consideration as well.
#2 fish farms must prove they are of minimal threat to wild salmon or get out
#3 fed. Government provide the $ to do the required research etc. STOP the crazy new habitat policy and implement the old habitat policy and wild salmon policy
#4 clearly define native rights to fish and enforce them. Get rid of rules that can be exploited such as allowing natives to keep mortally wounded sockeye even when sockeye are closed.
