Garmin Kicker Autopilot - Throttle Linkage Issue

I’m installing a Garmin Reactor 40 on my Suzuki 9.9 EFI and noticed that the throttle actuator that comes with the kit isn’t compatible with my kicker. After talking to Garmin’s tech support, they’re recommending a separate throttle linkage kit ($150 US extra). I did a bit of research and it appears that the adapter only works if I disconnect the manual throttle cable from my kicker control. My installer is suggesting that we install the AP and connect to my Garmin plotter through NMEA2000 and keep the manual throttle control as-is. I don’t think that would be the end of the world as I have a fairly manageable dance floor but for $3,500+, I’d expect to get a fully functional AP.

Has anyone on this board installed a Reactor 40 on a Suzuki who can share some insights? Thank you!
