Chris Bos is looking for about $1000 to help them with a project that needs to begin immediately on the Colquitz Creek. They want to better understand the health of the system by counting juvenile Coho and cutthroat trout at the counting fence behind Tillicum Mall. They have already acquired the permission from Saanich Parks and permits from DFO and the Province to collect fish at the fence. They have already identified additional volunteers who are willing to man the counting fence. They need the money to kick start this effort. Saanich parks requires that the volunteer group be covered by insurance which they will have to secure at their cost. Not right that the guys giving their time also have to pay.
