Fuel not reading empty

Hey all,

I am trying to fix an issue that has been going on too long. I have a mid 1990’s Yamaha 115 with a digital multi gauge. My fuel gauge does not read empty. From past experience my tank is empty when the fuel gauge reads half full. I have replaced the sender unit. The at the sender unit match what should be. The videos I find all show how to fix gauges that read empty when have gas in them. Not
I believe this was an issue before I bought the boat.
Any direction or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Check all the electrical connections for security and cleanliness including the ground, then check the sending unit as it could be deteriorated and not functions any longer
