For sale is a 14' Hourston run-about.

Hull was refinished and painted in 2010 (using Perfection) - all hand filled and sanded. The hull is old, but it's simple and in decent shape. New rub rail. Full bimini and canvas.

Engine is a 70HP 2-stroke Johnson with Oil Injection. Engine is a 1997 model year but was installed new in roughly 2001 (engine has been 1 owner since new) Engine has only seen fresh water - and very light use at less than 200 hours (estimated). Starts easy and runs strong. Electric trim/tilt. Electric choke. Low oil alarm.

Highliner single axle galvanized trailer has never seen salt water and has only ever crossed the Malahat once. In the past 15 years this trailer has seen likely 500kms (if that).

Asking $4,500 OBO. Boat is very simple, but would make a great lake/starter boat for someone. Currently located on Lake Cowichan (near Youbou).

You're probably not far off. It can pull this 225lb guy out of water on skis with 2 adults in the boat. Zero to top speed is almost instant. It's a pretty fun little boat.

Should add that it also has a new stereo (AM/FM/CD with Aux-in) and a pair of new speakers. It's not one of those wake boats with a sub that makes ripples on the lake, but you can listen to tunes.

My first boat was a '68 14 1/2' Hourston with a 50 hp merc. Same colour. Manual start, no lights or electronics. Went like stink! Can only imagine what a 70 would do!
Used to run my boat from Horseshoe Bay over to Gibsons a couple times a year to go fishing as well as to Centre Bay on Gambier to meet up with a friend who's Dad had a big cruiser. Great memories!
