Its solid one-piece construction, lever drag system and high-speed gear ratios are designed to perform under extreme pressure. Great for sturgeon, halibut, tuna and other big game. The Tyrnos single speed lever drag overhead series comes packed with Shimano's cutting edge reel technology. With a compact one-piece cold forged frame, light-weight spool with oversized High Efficiency Gearing, these durable aluminium reels have the incredible cranking power one looks for in a light to medium tackle game reel. All models have alternating twin pawl anti-reverse mechanisms. Shimano devised the Tyrnos range as a means of giving anglers the performance of the premium Tiagra range but for a smaller price. The Shimano Tyrnos 20 is an overhead fishing reel intended for game fishing in saltwater conditions. From within the Tyrnos range, included in the reel are four stainless steel Anti-Rust Bearings (A-RB). These are so highly effective because they have ten times the saltwater corrosion resistance of normal bearings. Shimano has taken every care to make the entire reel resistant to corrosion. A key factor in achieving this across the Tyrnos range is the presence of a Shimano Aluminium Metal Series frame, which has been protected by anodizing, painting, and plating.
