I have landed more than a few Salmon when it was hard to see to net the fish at night. That said, every area is different, I think only certain areas have good night bites. I grew up in the gulf Islands, and I would never pass by one point at night without stopping to fish because it often had a great late bite. In Port Alberni sometimes I've found a good late bite for springs, that is the exception though. The Sockeye in Alberni seem to have a very good bite around 10-10:30pm in early July. I live in Vancouver and I have never found it to be a good area for late night fishing here.
