My Dad has a seal skin/fur coat....I wouldn't wear it but the finished product actually is really nice.
 
I ate seal often enough when growing up and living in Newfoundland. It was sustenance, we didn't have the money to be buying meat as often as we would have liked. Boiled and then baked, was the only way I ate it.
