drive belt replace fbw 250 yamaha

You talking about the timing belt? On the 3.3L or 4.2L model?

FYI I have the 3.3L model and my mechanic was saying that 1000hrs is very conservative. If you regularly inspect the timing belt you should be fine to extend the interval quite a bit.

With an interference engine it just depends on if the risk of a price of a belt is worth a possible gernaded motor.

It is the 4.2 model. Not one to skimp on preventative maintenance. Get a bit of belt noise, had that since new just after off step and idling but stops quickly. Think it is drive belt?

Look for hairline cracks or spitting on underside of belt at base of the belt teeth. If you find any replace it

just like in automotive whether the belt is cracking or not they are a serviceable item for a reason at certain intervals. dont want to skimp on replacing those kinda items.

especially in an interfernce engine
