Well, just got back from three days in Seattle. Mostly just went for the road trip to see the sites with family.
I try to keep as much as my purchasing power locally but after this trip it will be hard to justify not returning after some of the bargains I tripped on.

Jeans - Steve and Barry's - $7.89 each (score of the trip)
V.I. Price $45.00+
Sony hard drive camcorder - Circuit City - $489.00
V.I. price $749.00+

Oh and I'm sending all the people I meet in Alberta that work in retail, down there, to give them an idea of what service looks like....
Didn't matter where we went, we were always served quickly and treated as though we were paying their wages...which we were.

Heck, even the border guys were happy to see us!!!!

I know what you mean buddies of mine just bought some quads down there and are 4 grand cheaper man are we ever getting ripped cause we live in canada only reason now is beacause of our dollar thats all we can see the difference now!!!!!ABOUT TIME

Blue Orca I know what you mean about service in AB. All they want to do here is SELL you something. After that your on your own, spend 60k on a truck and try and get it serviced good luck. Doesn't seem to matter from groceries to vehicles. Take your money and push you out the door. Don't like it, TOO BAD cause there's 20 more customers behind you ready to spend their money. Maybe this royalty deal will slow things down a bit. I read in one of your posts you were out North of Slave. I'm out in the Wab area consulting on rigs. might see you in Slave some day if your back out this way.

Hey, we just went to Las Vegas for a few days and they still do not accept the fact that their dollar is lower than ours. Most places charged 2% on Canadian, but a place called Casino Royal wanted to charge me 15% on my money[:0]. Well I am sure you can guess what I told them:D.Their arrogance will never cease to amaze me[?].

Not to high jack my own thread, but I'm either going to be spending my time north of Slave Lake or maybe in and around Dawson Creek for the winter. New contracts in B.C. may dictate that it will be Dawson/Ft. St. John because I'm licenced in both provinces...
As for the service in Alberta...I have only found two restaurants that are good. One in Calgary and one in Red Deer....heck even the KFC in Peace is only open Monday to Wednesday from 4 til 9..that's it...
Almost everyone I talked to in Washington knows Canadians for three things....Shopping, Eating and Hockey...they like our business.
