Crack in cavitation plate

Without telling too many embarassing details, I caught a crab pot line with a line weight attached in my prop. All appears ok, prop, bearings, etc., except I have a small crack in the rear of the cavitation plate of my 60hp Johnson. It's about 1/2-3/4" long and the plate on one side rises up about an eighth of an inch above the other side. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything.
Is it a problem I should have attended to?
Or just leave it as a battle scar?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Get it welded right now before it spreads you will find the vibration is hard on the prop seal and is possible to induce a crack in the lower part of the leg , water and gear lubricant don't go so good together.
Happened to me with catching a small block of wood in Barkley Sound , got it welded at Lifetimer in Duncan.

Get it welded right away, Also have someone mic your prop shaft. It may be bent and you are not aware of it. With as little as .05 of a bend can ruin your lower section.I hit a small piece of wood also and broke my plate, when it was all said and done it came out at 2200.00, thank you boat insurance
