Cleaning oil air filter

Hi was was wondering how to clean and oil air filter

depends on the type of filter. some you just use soap and water to clean and no oil... others use a spray on oil that is water soluable (so it can be cleaned using soap and water) I use a light solvent on mine and no oil but am eventually going to change them to the k&N type that uses a spray on oil... best to use an owners manual to see what they require. some are probably throw away and replace after getting dirty.
