Chum is closing in Areas 11-13

Sorry DHA I don't follow that thread since it went sideways.
Yes I care, and it looks like the commercial bag fleet are going to hammer the Fraser Chum.
Most likely they will hammer chum from other streams also not just Puntledge River.
Darn chum they just don't know to keep them selves separate.
Gamechanger this just looks like DFO is pro commercial and against Conservation. FSC and Rec.
Don't give me that the commercials get priority as that's lame.
If the old guard agreed to this BS it does not mean that it's right.
Remember the old guard in the Canadian government didn't allow women the vote.
It took many generations to change that wrong to a right.
Same thing here as the resource belongs to the people not the commercials or the government.

Chum is opening again as of midnight tonight...sorry GLG, your stories of doom and gloom don't hold, the fish went through Albion as we hoped they would...don't know why they delayed, but fish behaviour is unpredictable sometimes as we all know. There will be an Area H troll fishery for a couple of more days, but seine and gillnet are done in the Straits.

I'm not doom and gloom but more on the third class treatment to Rec fishing.
So is Browns Bay open now.

Don't forget that historically DFO and commercial fishing go hand in hand. Go research early documents ranging from 1899 forward through the early 1900's. They tell a story, an interesting one at best.
