The Juan De Fuca Salmon Restoration Society is looking for 2 or 3 individuals who live in the Sooke area that would be able to dedicate a half hour once a week to look after their Charters River hatchery duties. (feed the fish, check water flow on egg trays, take water temp readings etc) Have been told this would take a half hour maximum. They require this help year round. Send me a PM if you can help.

Just found out that we have about 2 dozen Chinook that have moved into Charters River on the first wave of fish up the Sooke. There are also a few hundred Chum and a few Coho, more Coho will arrive towards the end of the month. Our newly completed side channel is also flowing well and fish are making themselves at home. All is looking good.
