Good morning. This was discussed a couple years back. Anyone have any leads on where to buy 4 mil bags for a chamber sealer?

None of these bags work for a food saver. It depends on where you live.If you live in Vancouver Food Pak is a good price but if you live on the island you can add about 15-20% + tax for shipping I have been buying from food pak but am thinking about Enterprise http://www.enterprisepaper.com/ or Victoria Box and Paper https://www.victoriabox.ca/ I think that enterprise delivers to Sooke once a week as part of a route. They sell to the grocery stores. I had a bit of a hard time getting prices from them as I wanted them to tell me what bags they had as opposed to me telling them what size I wanted. I use a lot of different sizes. I used and sold that pallet of bags I ordered when the $ was at par and now wish I hadn't sold any LOL

There is a way to make the chamber bags work with a foodsaver. I have a vp215 but I tested the method with a foodsaver and it does work. It's on YouTube.

how much did that salmon cost to catch and how much time do you have ? I guess if you are sealing up gauze as in the 2nd vid LMAO

Its model number is V2060. I bought it over 5 years ago after one I bought from Cabela's crapped out after two months. Works great.

My wife bought me a Ziploc sealer as a gift a couple of years ago. I thought what a piece of junk when I opened it, but I used it to make her happy. Started with the food saver rolls. I have given up on them and will not use them again unless it's an emergency. Pretty much confirmed my first impression, Then I bought some bags from someone on the forum, I forget who, at a SVIAC meeting. They worked perfectly in my cheapo Ziploc. I have found some old salmon in the freezer last spring from 2015 with no freezer burn! Can't say that about the food savers. Man I wish I bought more of those bags. This year I have tried the Cabela's bags, they are thicker than the food savers and seem to be holding up so far. Not sold on them yet, but no leakers at this point.

I find Cabelas bags seal better and they have less moisture problems when heat sealing. I think this is due to thinner, smaller moisture channels on the one side of the bags compared to the Food Saver bags. Don't use Food Saver bags anymore and have better results over time.
