Camping near parksville

We're headed to Port Hardy from Creston on Friday and planning to stop and camp after we get off the ferry somewhere. Where might be a conveniennt place to camp somewhere north of Naniamo that would be suitable for boat parking? The provincial parks don't seem to have any more reservations, though english river has a bunch of first come first serve sites. We're tenting.

You could try French Creek, just north of Parksville, not much for ammenities, but always room and inexpensive.

About 30 or so minutes north of Parksville, check out the Qualicum First Nation campground. It's big and looks pretty nice. I'll bet there's lots of room there for your boat etc.

Kitty Coleman is 1 hour north don't need a reservation. Can't actually reserve. $13 a night and many guys overnight there boats there on the trailer.

PM me if I can help... Could possibly confirm a spot for you in the AM and park my empty boat trailer in it for the day LOL its first come first served.

Thanks for the replies! I'll talk it over with the other guys and see how far we want to go. It depends which ferry we make too.
