My brother in-law passed away in 2011. My sister has a friend who knew of a fellow who would help sell the boat. He instead asked if he could pay her so many $ a month and she agreed to it and has a letter of agreement which she is having trouble locating as now he is not going to pay for it. My sister can't find the registration papers for it but she has the 13 K #s for it. How do i find out if the boat is still in my brother in-law's name by checking the numbers? Trying to find the correct department is getting frustrating. Any help appreciated.

fill out the form the get a "duplicate licence" follow instructions on the first page. If they issue a licence with your Brother in-law's name it's still registered. If they don't then it's not registered to you anymore
