I had the opportunity today to fish a small private pond on Vancouver Island for large Rainbows and it was a blast.
I fished from shore with a friend and in about an hour and a half we managed to land 4 bows all between 4-6 pounds. I was able to coax three on the fly and he was able to nab one on spinning gear. One fish about 6 pounds hit as I was pulling the line out to recast and was into the backing within seconds.
Most of the pond is covered with what I believe to be milfoil so only a small area is fishable.
Of course I forgot the camera!
