best depth sounders GPS chartplotter combo

I have the itch to upgrade to new depthsounder unit with chartplotter. I'm impressed with the new Raymarine A65, but also am interested in the Hummingbird 797 c2si which claims side scanning sonar.

Has anybody thoughts on side scanning sonar? I think having a picture of the bottom such a unit paints might really help find holding fish.

Both units use Navionics for charts and I believe they have digital senders, vs Analog used by Lorrance/Eagle.

Any help or advise would be appreciated. DAJ

nobody seems to be replying, so here's my 2 cents....
i don't have the combo unit, but i did buy a Garmin 172c
color chartplotter a year ago.
i'm very happy with it, but i would advise 2 things
buy the color display unit and the biggest screen
(applicable to your boat size) you can afford.
