Just got back from a few days in Barkley sound. Fished Meares sunday for about 4 hours. We hooked and landed one about 18 lb white spring and saw another boat with one on. There was about 15 boats fishing the area.
100 feet on the DR. Definately not on fire on the inside but you hear of boats picking up a fish or two here and there.

Saw Fog Ducker out there too.
Got a nice chicken hali about 30 lbs as well during the trip.

We spent some time showing a fellow fisherman the area since he had never been down there before.

Hi All,

We had a decent day on the water with the kids left the dock at 7 am and pulled the gear at noon. Picked up 4 Springs one we weighed in at the ladder derby just to put our face on the board. Salmon tally - 16lb , 15lb, 13lb, 5lb | Hali - 15lb & 8lb we lost an at least 70 plus pounder at the boat probably would have been oversize.

fellas

alot of guys askin about fishin over on the coast , yes ive been goin , yes im alive lol ,
just takin a break here as many others have from the Winter $hit show
this forum turned into , its really to bad , alot of good guys here...

Fishing was really good for May this past wknd, we killed 12 fish between 12 and 20 pounds , all between 80 - 135 feet ,
needlefish and anchovies were the ticket , Yankee Bay ,Nanat Islet ( edit ) , Kirby , Meares are all holding fish , quality fish more around the surflines ,
ive read a thread about Coho Killers not working for some , Ive fished them all winter with great success ,
modified as ive talked in the past , 36 in leader has been best , color pattern is key , needle fish also on 36 in leader has also been
solid , , again , all based on a particular pattern , not a secret the the trex has been great , as well as a army truck , splatter , UV ,
changes from week ta week , no fancy mods needed , m2b

i take a look at Rocky Point Charters website as well as salmon university ta get reports time ta time , Ken's reports are usually pretty solid ,
hes on the water ALOT ,

anyways , good luck fellas , have a great summer , stay safe , ya can catch me on facebook ,

Good Fishin

Felix

Hit Kirby for a couple of passes at first light and keep three or four springs and let a few shakers go. Moved out and Hali fished for a bit and got four between 25 & 65 pounds. Back to Kirby for a couple more passes and a couple more springs. The springs were small. 6 - 12 pounds. Not the ones we got earlier in the week. A friend got a couple in the 20's at the harbour this morning.

hali fishing was very good had to release two oversize got one lamost exactly 126 and three more smaller over the weekend we only got three springs but heard there were lots at longbeach and a pair of guys were hammering them in the sound somewhere but we couldn't find them - the salmon we got had huge herring maybe even a pilchard ? and krill in them - alos ran into a school of decent size cohos once again the weather was awesome!!

Just got back from the Nook. Fished Saturday at Dixon just up from the wall and got 6 springs, Sunday at Fleming and got 4, and then this morning got a quick 2 at Swale to finish it off. We moved each time to try and find some bigger fish but the biggest were 12 lbs at each spot. All at 100-120 feet on white needle fish, t-rex, and uv hootchies.
Also, released a wild coho at Fleming that was probably 8 lbs that was lots of fun.

Been hearing rumours of good fishing...but this thread has managed to slip all the way onto the second page. Pretty light on reports this year...looks like the BS that overwhelmed this site over the winter has had a real affect on some of the more prominent contributors.
Heading there tomorrow afternoon with a friend and our two boys (4 and 5 yrs old). Hoping to get the kids a taste of the action. I'll let you know how it goes.

Heading over to Uki in the wee hours tomorrow AM. will have 2 nights there. Hope to have some good reports on Sunday.

It's phuckin' good right now.

A borderline retard came back at 8 with his fish right off Brady's this morning so... Even Lorne should be able to catch one this weekend!!! LOL

Everything sounds like it should be boys, I will be back at the end of the month with a couple of borderliners myself....same as last year...should be a gooder!
