Awesome year expected for Springs

in California

The chance of the latter is higher than in years. The salmon season was closed in 2008 and 2009 because of catastrophic declines, then had a slow rebirth the past two years as the fishery was rebuilt. Projections this year call for 820,000 adult salmon (mostly 3-year-olds) to migrate from the Bay Area coast to the Sacramento River, and 1.6 million off California's north coast to the Klamath. In 2009, only 39,500 salmon returned through the bay and up the Sacramento River.

I imagine this is good news for the westcoast, but I don't think it helps us here in areas 19-20 with our looming severe restrictions this year.

For sure.... Just eludes to DFO's incompetence on a grander scale.. CDFW took a run of 39k fish and turned it to to 1.6 million fish in three years. I guess ocean survival rates are better down there.

Those fish are probably passed the west coast of B.C. for the most part?

If those fish pass the WCVI, they are subject to death by the end of my rod, no political party has a say if they bite........only if DFO closes me
