Looking to buy a anchor, chain and rope. Its for a 26' Hourston, I want to be able to anchor in at least 200' of water. What type of anchor, length of chain and rope should I have?
As you know i have the same size boat. Shane at PNT set me up with a great setup. 10 kg claw anchor, 30 ft 5/16 chain and 300 ft of triple strand rope. I can anchor in 180 ft in 25 kn winds and hold
I would go for a min of 500 ft of rode or get the system trotac does where you can add or take out line depending on depth of water,
go see Trev down there he does the anchor systems
Double on trotac's anchor system. The splicing is second to none and the double steel loop anchor pullers are bullet proof. The one I have is overkill but works like a charm and keeps me in the other white meat.
