I’m back. My 2026 Resolution is to fish more. I’ll post reports when I am fortunate enough to wet lines.

Hostile environment out here, managed to get this 63 before the seal got him

Late post. got out Monday and picked up 2 at T-10 right before slack,160 bounced the ball off the bottom, then ran to Bell and picked up 2 at the start of the ebb, 140 also on the bottom. Wrong area to post but FYI hit Tumbo on Tuesday and picked up 2 South end of the channel Tumbo cliff side. 165 bounced on the bottom.

Slow day for us, fished all around the bell and tried grace for a few passes. Barely any to no bait, marked almost no fish, the fish that got marked hit right away. Besides one keeper we released only half a dozen fish. Found some bait in tight at grace but only pulled out a lingcod from it. Very calm out all day, tides weak, might have had something to do with it.

We started put this am at mile markers to bell with one soft bit and marked some suspended fish around 75’ no real bait balls and just slow so decided to check out the other side near fisheries and was dead! The sounder was way to clear for my liking- decided to move into the sound- spotted whales when coming around Atkinson- found a pile of fish a little further north- all suspended in 350-450 fow- 3 or 4 double headers- some dinks and a bunch just unders and 1 63cm for the day- skinny G and whatever that security spoons called were pretty hot-zero bites on Hootchies and the plug did not come to life for us although we were fishing at suspended again in attempts to get some bigger fish-beauty day all in all- likely shoulda blasted across….

Ten degrees this afternoon at Burrard Civic as I tinkered on the boat. Beauty.

My wife said no after last years mess I made with the herring, the dog didn’t help either by eating half of them then throwing them back up all over the house, but if I can only figure out where I can hide 40 pounds of herring from her

Edit- just got a couple bags, now I really need to figure out how to hide this herring from her, ughhh I might as well tell her when I get home

What quality is this herring ? If not eating mostly using for bottom fish I figure ? Can’t have many scales left and bellies prob go soft pretty quick since not starved like the store bought stuff?
