2006 honda 150 outboard oil dipstick

hey everyone,

hoping someone out there with a 150 can help me out. checking the oil last night and after reading the dipstick i pushed it back in and the stopper on the dipstick slid all the way up to the ring. can anyone give me a meassurement as a reference point as to where the rubber stopper sits compared to the bottom of the dipstick? anyone ever delt with this problem before?

cheers

If you filled the oil properly (just shy of the upper-most hatch mark) , try and match that level of penetration with the dip-stick, then adjust the top collar of the stopper accordingly.

Never dealt with that problem, but I sure have dealt with the problem of emptying out ALL the oil of a BF150 so once I fill back up with the stipulated amount of new oil, the level indicated on the dip stick is proper for the hatch marks. It drives me nuts

Approx. 222 mm from the bottom end of the dip stick should be the attaching position of the bottom end of the collar
