Both motors on same filter port is just fine. I ran a T after the filter for my 8hp and my Thirsty F200 3.3l and there has never been fuel flow problems. i did it that way because i have a fuel meter and i wanted it to be behind the fuel filter.
There are no issues with running both motors on same battery. most big boat setups have a starting and house battery, I have an ACR between mine and I have the starter isolation option installed so as not to sting my house batteries when I start the motors. Works fine. Only issue is the 8hp sometimes doesn't have enough power to overcome the 12.7V threshold and will not recharge the house batteries, but its a minor issue.
