1998 Suzuki 115HP EFI..2 Stroke

I am going to be a first time boat purchaser and I am looking possibly at a 18.5 foot campion explorer with a 115HP Suzuki EFI...I looked at the motor and it looks great, has a stainless prop and 320 hours or so on the engine.

I don't see alot if any older suzuki engines around, has anyone had any experiences with the older suzuki's? How do they compare to Yamaha's and some of the more well known engines from the late 1990's.

Any and all opinions/experiences would be great...Thanks

If it's the one in Duncan, it's a nice clean looking package....
I have no experience personally with 2-stroke Suzuki's
but that motor looks like new.
Ask for a sea trial and you will be able to tell pretty quick if there's issues.
Pull a drain screw in the lower unit and check gear oil for clarity.
a compression test would show any potential problems with the cylinder head.
Other than the bottom paint, very nice !

The older Suzuki engines are fine. Getting parts for them, however, is not. I'd call Breakers Marine and see what availability for parts is like, they are some of the best Suzuki guys on the island.
