100% of Angling Licence Revenue to Benefit Anglers

Should throw some of those monies toward habitat restoration on the Thompson. Seems like the SSBC are the only ones doing anything there...

What else would folks like to see done?

Habitat and wild fish.

I'm glad hear they've stopped stocking catchables into remote lakes that barely anybody fishes - but it still seems like our rivers are where the real need is. You're hard pressed to find a river in BC that isn't in trouble.

Good job on lobbying to get the extra cash and nice work with the triploids here on SVI, how about sending some of that money to help our wild steelhead?

The rivers committee will prioritize funding needs but many of the project will focus on wild steelhead. We will be reporting out on our website each year on the projects completed.

Well, I applaud that. I'll applaud even more when we actually see some results.

Best of luck, Adrian.

If you are still following this thread, and If you don't mind a followup question.

In a very quick review of a few FFS BC annual reports, the province has been contributing roughly 1.6 to 1.75
million to the Society annually.
Is this going to be eliminated now that the Society is going to receive all of the license revenue?
If that funding is clawed back, the net increase in funding would decrease to 1.25 to 1.4 million.

Glad of the change, but leery of Provincial good news announcements.
Thank you
