O-FISH-ALL 2014 Vancouver, Howe Sound, Sunshine Coast Reports Thread!

Fished t10 to north arm this morning. The northwesterly made for some good swells and chop..
It did lay down nicely by 10. The 3 of us tapped out at 12:30 with 11 sockeye, one of them a solid 10 lbs!
We found fish in 3-400 feet of water down at 77-87'.
We marked fish on the sounder in top 100 feet then watch rods and bam!!
With a couple rookies along we lost our share of fish, I think 0 for 6 to start grrr...
Few boats around us all morning.
Anyone finding them at the mile markers yet?

north Arm was on fire this morning.

All Charters tubbed out early.

One guide and skipper I know boated 28...7 guests tubbed out.

I'm starting to think I must be the worst sockeye fisherman goin cause I sure don' t seem to be gettin them like you guys do. Only get out on weekends and usually solo. Will get my fish but really struggled going 4 for 7 on a real long Sunday with 2 guys on board. I've lost my best producing flashers now and starting to question running Kone Zones which seems to be the variable. Of course all the stuff I've been looking for is now long gone at the tackle shops. Luckily, there seems to be enough fish coming in that I should be able to struggle through...

Been there too. They don't have the flasher I found was producing 3 to 1. I've been looking for that one for the past couple of weeks. I've been everywhere.

Don't waste your time with the kone zones, I lost my brand new kone zone right out of bag with a 15lb ball two weeks ago after a faulty cable/ cord and haven't been looking for it since.

So you think that people shouldn't try a Kone Zone because of a faulty cable? I think they work great in certain situations.

thanx!used fish lotsa dummy flashers bout 25yrs.ago had too many nasty tangles went back to usin' one dummy to a cable.not as much trouble ,but still got fish, not as many though.

I'm curious what "certain situations" means? I've been running Kone Zones on both sides the last few outings. I find that they're easy to handle and I get fewer tangles, but I haven't managed to limit out either.

What colours are you using? I've had some success with the green and the purple haze. I have a red one I bought at the boat show that I thought might be good but that one after several hours has yet to catch a fish.

Worked well with Kobe zones for us today. Had on each side and we landed a load!image.jpg

I'm not saying not to use kone zones or dummies, just don't think you need them three lines down and one dummy flasher on the rigger with one rod worked just fine, double headers and one triple, but then again so did the no dummies and just 2 lines down, double headers were still happening. I think it's more important to find the schools and work them! I also have been changing the color of flasher from green to red? Don't know if that has helped but I am willing to try anything, if nothing's happening. As a matter of fact tried a Ross lure that mike at berrys passed to me and it managed to do the trick also. A bead, some flash and 4 pink squid tentacles. Good luck!

Personally I have yet to prove to myself one color out fishes another when it comes to attractors?
My favourite used to be green then I was given a case of blue hot spots and I now have a new favourite color, blue LOL
I run Kones and hotspots of all different colors, what maters most (in my opinion anyway) is put as much gear as tightly grouped as you can with out getting tangles and maximize your soak time.
Next big one is your speed, ya gotta watch your angle the speed your gear is working is huge and it changes with every direction out there from the winds and tides.
