FishWhisperer, are you going to have a booth at the Van Boat Show this year

Hey Tide Up, I don't believe a booth has been booked for this year. Its just around the corner and I don't know if the company will have stock in time. There have been a couple companies that have booths who have offered a table to me so, if Jugs show up they may make an appearance at the boat show.

As a jughead newbie and i like everyone else i have a ton of questions.

I have a week planned for Bamfield at the end of july and i want to give jugheads a try. what size jughead is best used with anchovies? What is the most popular jughead hoochie combo? What flasher works best with Jugheads?

Teasers are such a pain i am looking forward to try something new.

Check out this prehistoric jughead that came into the store today I had to have it it was so wierdimage.jpg

Heya goitzy. Welcome to SFBC! Lots of great guys willing to share lots of great info in here :)

Small is best for chovy, larger chovy use medium. Check pg.18 of this thread for a pic of sizes and colours bud.
Most popular hoochie combo? Pick your poison. The most reports are with white Jughead with white hoochie, add twinkle skirt.
Jugheads work well with most all flashers except for the XL Jughead which is quite large and anything hanging out of it is usually quite heavy so the flasher does not roll.
Jughead is designed to be trolled without a flasher and has been proven very effective on it's own. A "dummy" flasher can be used at 15' to 20' below jughead.
If you prefer using a flasher with Jughead, use between 4' and 6' of leader from the flasher, and about 20' lead from downy clip to flasher.

Hope that helps...

Edit: Well it was on pg. 18... I can't find it either now... now its on pg 24 too -

Rufus,
You should break it out of the package and show us how that thing rigs up, as its hard to tell exactly what it is in the package. Is it just a piece of rubber with an angled plate at the top? How does the hook hang off the back? Looks cool man.

No More Jugs! :(
As of today, I am no longer taking orders thru SFBC. If I've answered your pm or email up to today you will still get your Juggies.
I just think this has become more of a market place than anything for Jughead and I don't think that is the main agenda for this forum. People want to know how they work and I think that's what this thread should evolve into. An info thread for Jughead.
I'd like to see some of the different ways that you guys have been rigging them up. Some stories of how they performed, whether you like them, disliked them and hopefully, why, where, when, how ...what?
And please don't think I'm ever offended or upset because there is something similar to Jughead before, now or in the future. I am a fisherman. A dirty gear ***** just like the rest of you. I want to try them out too! As for copies, well... imitation is the greatest form of flattery isn't it? :) I don't get involved in that crap.
Alberniefisher, bury the hatchet. I don't know how far you've come with your lure but, I'm offering my assistance. I may be able to help you cut some corners bud. Drop me a line if you like.

Show Me Your Jugs!

Edit: Hey Roofus is it possible to take a pic o' that thing rigged? Maybe of the instructions?

Well that went over like a lead balloon.
Ok ...I'm just trying to de-commercialize the thread. I know that I am solely responsible for its progression into a marketplace thread but, I believe it is part & parcel of the evolution of a lure. Jughead has come a long way and its been a grind to say the least.
It was suggested to me, more than once, to keep custom Jugs available but only thru pm's. I will concur. If someone asks me to buy Jugheads in the open forum, with all due respect for SFBC, I will be reluctant to respond. Just keep it to pm's and hopefully the info that is posted in this thread will help some people to have a better experience when sportfishing and of course, enhance their chances of catching fish.

Ill go pick it up from my work today and rig it maybe ill throw it in my hot tub with jets on to see if it works I just posted it cause I found a bunch of neat old tackle in a trunk from a house I picked.

There was no instructions on box but the plastic part was stapled? To the cardboard no glue back then I guess ,image.jpgmy favorite is the line about still having problems catching 40 or fifty pounders
