Another build thread - Silver Creek Marine 23' Hard top

Very cool. I love those style of catamaran boats.
I'll look at the website some more when I get time. What are the advantages to such a boat with aluminum construction vs fiberglass? I'm thinking there must be very few of those built in aluminum

yep. ocean crosser. i'll take it down to the bahamas once im done building the hull which is likely going to be built in vietnam. and this time no messing around - 8 screens off the bat, with provision for 4 more. none of the after the fact retrofits.
Love it.

Nice build there, Silvercreek! And yes, anyone who has done detailed engineering design knows that the devil is always in the detail. 80-20 rule, to get to 80% takes 20% time - then the tough part starts. To stay focused and bring it to 100% is the true art of the design and then workmanship. Many half butt projects quit at 90 or 95% and call it done. Think it all the way through and get it right and you will have no problem building a loyal and deep customer base.

Btw, I had to grin a bit when you said cuddies are only for 25' and up. I have a 19' Arima which has a nice size cuddy. It's all about a smart design and using every nook to its full potential! Cheers!

Take a look at Genesis Craft boats out of Australia. Open concept with a lockable cuddy. If I ever get a boat built, it’s going to look like that.

Oh its certainly possible but what I meant is it doesn't leave much room for a cab and / or fishing platform at the back. What I meant is for me personally I don't see the point on a smaller boat. Everyone has a different idea of what they want so I was wondering what other opinions were of this.

Heres a couple pictures of the one I helped a friend tack together, he's in Campbell River. this is a 21' (LOA) boat I believe. I think there's a few other guys on the island that have built them, maybe I should build one...

Sexy lines. Might even be stand-up height under the roof. That's always important to me. Hate the neck benders or scalp rippers.

Hey everyone,

I got the motor mounted Friday and yesterday took the boat out for an initial sea trial. Still a few details to finish off this week. Still waiting for the marine vinyl for the back bench seats to arrive.

Here's a couple videos I took with my knock off go pro

Got the rear bench seats installed yesterday and finished up a few other details this week. That basically completes the build unless someone wants to buy it and wants me to add more.

Thanks. I walked into Westetn last week just asking about a product and they made it very clear that I couldn’t buy anything there.
