2021 Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

No problem I know I cant be sure all the time so I throw them back. I threw this one back in 2019 thinking it was a coho. I should have known I rarely catch coho lol.

report wise thrasher was a ghost town anyone making that trip I would suggest the few extra miles and go to entrance island.

It had that green back and I always thought that meant a small spring or coho. They look so different few coho I caught off the QA were greenbacked as well. I know better now lol expensive trip with no fish to take home that day.

Another epic day at Cowan. Fished 10-3. Rough rollers and winds kept us on the inside and finally ventured out later in the day. 3 of us and caught our limit of 12 pinks. Probably lost another 20 at the boat. Three x quad hits when we found the schools. Saw lots of jumpers everywhere. Started with chovies and pink squirts and later just squirts as they worked very well. 45-80 . The tug is my drug and today was an overdose. Take the kids out! Now is the time.

So are we allowed a chinook in 29-3 as of tomorrow ?
The way I read it its 1 Chinook clipped or wild 80 CM max effective tomorrow 29-3 thu 29-5...... T10/QA and Sandheads all included in the 29-3 boundary coordinates. Not sure why more people aren't jumping up and down and drinking beer right now....Pls correct me if I'm wrong. Gone thru the regs for 3 hours now......

Yah I’ve been racking my brain too trying to make sense of it. Going out tomorrow to target pinks and coho but this may change my whole game plan

It is the “unless specified differently”. If you see the second link in the Salmon section. It takes you to this map. And it is clear that MOST of 29-3 is a NO until aug 31. https://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/tidal-maree/co-chq/17-chq-eng.pdf

Technically EAST of Thrasher is in 29-3. So there you are correct. South of Bowen. Nope. That’s how I read it
