City of Pitt Meadows will be presenting on their plans to upgrade the Kennedy pump station to be fish-friendly. Staff will be making recommendations that council grant them permission to seek out funding opportunities to make the pump stations fish-friendly and to enter into discussions with the Katzie First Nations on partnering on funding opportunities.
The City has a $1 million funding shortfall for this project. If they are unable to raise this money, they will move ahead with a new set of unfriendly pumps that will not be changed for another 40 years
