When was disease introduced on purpose anywhere on the West Coast? I recall hearing of a case in Eastern Canada and even it is being questioned now. Hard to discern myth from truth anymore. If you say it enough folks believe it. Anyway true of all politics, back to fishing threads.

Yikes...just finished watching the video, was hard to get though. pretty sad situation I don't see this settling down next year. What is clean is the complete absence of any kind of authority. No coast guard, no DFO, no RCMP. The video of the QCL boat catching a fish and then the Hida warrior boat rushing over to it and netting their fish was over the top.

Not sure why the QCL held back all this footage from the media. Perhaps it was they hopped things could be worked out or maybe the media refused to air it.

An agreement between the Haidas, Coastal First Nations, and Canada (FRRA) After these many years, this would provide a considerable increase in economic opportunity for those who choose to take advantage of it. For our people, this would mean:
- Aboriginal Rights to Fish remain intact
- Fishing for multiple species, regulated by our own people
- Fishing boundaries imposed to favor sportfishing erased
- Capital to re-establish fleets
- Capital for processing Coast wide commercial fishing opportunities As well this would include
- commitment to Restore Habitat and enhance stocks
- greater involvement in fish management

Wow gimme gimme gimme. Why would anyone be required to RE- ESTABLISH their fleet? Also what boundaries favor sportfishing???

QCL has to be looking to be compensated for having the carpet pulled out after significant expenses to start up. Why stir it up? Just quietly get paid.

No mention of the actions by the Haida prior to the closure that were in that video?
