Prefer short shaft.

I have a 2.5 hp merc basically new! Very light. $700

i have a low hour 4hp merc with a 6hp conversion $975 resealed bottom(someone wrapped some fishing line around the shaft and cut the seal) and new water pump. this model has the built in tank.3 gallon and has connection to hook up remote tank. engine weighs 57lbs

Thanks, those are a bit too fancy for my budget. I have seen new old stock 2.5hp Mercs and zukes for around 700.

I've sold many old 6 HP that are in good running condition for $400-500 so I think you need to up your budget or buy that new-old stock

Budget isn't too small, but is commensurate with what I'm looking at. I won't pay within 10, or even 20% of new prices for something used, but that's just me. Happy to pay 400-500 for a good used motor!

You’ll find something, I bought a mint 2.5 Suzuki this summer for $500. They’re out there.
